Octonauts and Peter Rabbit nominated for five Emmy Awards
New York, London – 27 March 2017 – Silvergate Media (“Silvergate”), the international TV production and licensing company focused on pre-school children’s entertainment based in New York and London, is proud to announce that Peter Rabbit and the Octonauts have been nominated for a total of five awards at this year’s Daytime Emmy awards.
Peter Rabbit, a 3D Computer-generated imagery animated TV series for pre-schoolers has been shortlisted under three categories: Outstanding Directing in a Preschool Animated Program, Outstanding Sound Mixing – Preschool Animated Program and Outstanding Writing in a Preschool Animated Program.
Octonauts, the undersea preschool adventure property has been shortlisted under two categories: Outstanding Writing in a Preschool Animated Program and Outstanding Special Class Animated Program.

The Tale of Peter Rabbit by Beatrix Potter was first published in 1901, and has never been out of print since. Over the course of its 110-year history, it has sold more than 250 million copies, been translated into 35 different languages, and led to one of the world’s oldest licensed product ranges.
In partnership with co-producers Nickelodeon and publishers Frederick Warne, Silvergate has developed Peter Rabbit into a new 3D Computer-generated imagery (CGI) animated TV series for preschoolers.
The new animation is an inspiring and playful re-imagining of Beatrix Potter’s timeless children’s classic. Mischievous, charming and brave, Peter is a hero who overcomes obstacles, outwits predators and avoids danger as he embarks on a series of exciting adventures with his best friends Benjamin and Lily.
The Octonauts are a team of adventurers who explore the world’s oceans, rescue aquatic creatures and protect their habitats – from the rainforests of the Amazon to the deepest depths of the Midnight Zone. Captain Barnacles Bear, ex-pirate Kwazii Cat, medic Peso Penguin and the rest of the crew fearlessly dive into action, deploying a fleet of aquatic vehicles, including their Octopus-shaped home-base, the Octopod.
Now in its fourth season, Octonauts is aired in over 100 countries across the world, including on China Central TV (CCTV), Disney Channel (USA), CBeebies (UK), ABC (Australia), TF1 (France) and Super RTL (Germany).
Since 2011, the brand has emerged as a leading preschool property in the United States, UK, Europe, Australia, and Korea. China is the latest country where a successful brand launch is underway.
